Where is Ryanne?

By: Myrna Flynn

Ryanne's friends, Hosanna, Anders, Aaron and Carrie, were worried about her. It had been weeks and no sign or word from her. They missed her volage, her gaudy clothes, her leavened  every season hair color. She was their crazy, ditsy, funny sidekick. They even missed her furfuracious napiformed creature that was always with her.

Aaron was sure there was an unknown side to her that was opposite to the facade she presented to people. He decided to go to her house and see if she was there, since he was the only one who had a key to her door. There was a room in her home that she kept locked, maybe that was where she was. He used her Irish door knocker, waited a few minutes, then unlocked the door. As he was entering, Ryanne rushed down the stairs and cried, " I was just getting ready to call you. Come quickly with me." They ran upstairs to the special room.

Aaron was shocked when he saw it contained a complete seismologist laboratory. Ryanne explained that she was a member of a renowned group of seismologists: Doctors Maja Holmquist, Anders Holmquist, Colleen Holmquist and Daren Flynn, who were tracking the incessancy of small tremors following the San Andrea's Fault. The tremors stretched from San Diego to Seattle. Disturbances were also noticed in the Ring of Fire in the Cascades: Mt Shasta, Crater Lake, Mt Hood, Mt St Helens, Mt Adams, Mt Rainier and Mt Baker.

"I'm going to FaceTime with our friends and give them the abundance of evidence that presignify that the genuine great earth quake is coming within the next 24 to 36 hours. The rest of the group will be contacting the major media stations to warn them of the catastrophe ahead. When they see you and my laboratory, they will know that it is true and a wacky scenario dreamed up by me."

As soon as this was finished, Ryanne grabbed Aaron's hand and practically drug him down into the darksome basement where her car was loaded with survival food, equipment and her weird pet. Ryanne said, "I have notified my sister, Megan, in Wyoming to expect house guests. You will come with me, won't you?"

Aaron replied, "Yes, I will come. Let's go to my place so I can pick up necessities, and head for Wyoming ASAP! We are in count down time."

And that is exactly what they did.Did the earthquake happen? Yes, it did and all of California, Oregon, and Washington, except west of the Cascades, tumbled into the ocean.

But .... was there more to come? The volcanists were closely monitoring the Ring of Fire. The mountains were still threatening.

Once upon a time there was a girl named, Lulubird, who lived far far away from most of her family. Just for fun they decided to meet on-line and play word games together.

It was decided that the next time they met it would be to share a story that contained words picked by all the family participating. An abundance of interesting words were presented and the challenge accepted by most.

Her retired parents got right down to business and started writing their masterpieces. Lulubird was busy preparing to host thanksgiving for about 14. She had a double batch of leaven bread going. Lulubird was teaching her young granddaughter, Zozo, how to roll out the dough. A genuine darksome mood was overtaking her mind as she pondered what she would write and how she could incorporate all those wonderful words.

Lulubird put the list downed enjoyed a nice Thanksgiving dinner with most of her kids, grandkids and inlaws. Ignoring her alliteration text group that was gently encouraging her to not worry about making a masterpiece, just a simple story about a gaudy volage person living her incessancy life of doldrum.

Regardless of the presignifing of words, Lulubird was still at a loss of what to write a story about. She was happy to find out that age wasn't alone in her slow start to writing.Possibly she was suffering from writer's block.

Her mother suggested she just get started by saying, "I have to write a story..."

Now she's nearly to the end of this talent thinking that the story would have so much better had she written it about a beautiful purple and green furfuraceous dragon with a napiform head. But alas, you have been regaled with this tedious travelogue of the last 24 hours.

The End

Ending in Ingnominity

It was 4 am; Anopheles sensed a darksome foreboding. The waxing gibbous moon had already set.  It wouldn’t have mattered, tho’ nothing could penetrate the pitch black of this night—the sky was pregnant with heavy clouds; it seemed to presignify a deluge such as had occurred only one time before.  He knew the heavens would soon spill the entire water supply of the earth on this spot.

Seeking shelter, running aimlessly and stumbling repeatedly bordering on volage; one thought took hold and began ruminating in Anopheles’ mind, “If I was furfuraceous, I would slumber out the storm and not a drop of water would penetrate my covering. I wouldn’t notice the ferocity of the waves thrashing and beating upon me. I would awaken on the other side of this perdition, ready to resume life as it should be.”

This theorem opened a door in his brain, revealing a glimmer of hope presignifying the lamhaltas of the power thought can wield over mind and body. Anopheles pulled inward—body and soul.  His thoughts shut out the incessancy of the torrent; time and space had no pull on him. One genuine task remained, consuming his entire self.  He was volage as the leaven in the thought expanded out of control.  In an instant the floodgates opened, Anopheles burst forth as a gaudy, napiform wingless, harmless, has-been, washed up on a distant, deserted, damaged shore.
